Join me and the Reluctant Ramblers for some live music at the 1st Annual Roslindale/Hyde Park Empty Bowls Project, coming up on Sunday, March 27 from 5-8 pm at the Roslindale Substation (4228 Washington St. Roslindale, MA 02131)
How does Empty Bowls work? Well, first you buy a ticket ($25 suggested donation; pay more or less as you are able - kids under 12 eat free). Then on March 27, choose a ceramic bowl handmade by artists from Create: Art in Community and other local potters, and fill it with delicious soups from local restaurants. Learn about food justice efforts in our neighborhood and how you can get involved. (Also enjoy the gorgeously renovated Substation and listen to some great music by local legends Andrew Innes & the Reluctant Ramblers!) Then take your bowl home to keep, as a reminder of hunger in our community. Get tickets on the Eventbrite Page: https://tinyurl.com/ycktrxe4 This event will likely sell out, so don't wait until the last minute to get your tickets! Andrew Innes & The Reluctant Ramblers - Andrew Innes: Guitar & Vocals - Kim Patch: Fiddle - Eric Smalley: Upright Bass - Tim Obetz: Pedal Steel If you are on Facebook you can check out a video of the AKE Trio playing Larry Ungar's lovely Alta Sierra Waltz.
AKE Trio: Andrew Innes - saw, Kim Patch - violin, Eric Smalley - upright bass
Here are a couple of playlists of songs I've recorded over the last few years. I've put these songs out on the web from time to time, usually as I finish them. Was just thinking it might be nice to collect them into some sort of semi-arbitrary grouping.
If you hear acoustic bass, that's Eric Smalley. And if you hear violin, that's Kim Patch. The rest is me on various instruments & vocals. Enjoy! |
